Pomodoro is the technique to increase the efficiency and quality of your work. Through this process one can get the work done without feeling much burden of the task. The technique of “Divide and Conquer” is used in this process. A bigger task is broken done into multiple small tasks and these tasks are then accomplished to get the work done.

The rules of this technique are as follows:

1. Decide on the task to be done

2. Set the timer to 25 minutes

3. Work on the task until the timer rings. If a distraction pops into your head, write it down, but immediately get back on the task

4. After the timer tings, put a tick on a piece of paper

5. Take a short 3–5 minute break

6. Repeat steps 1–4

7. After you have 4 ticks on your paper, you can take a longer break (15–20 minutes), and continue working on your task by going to step 1 until you complete your task

Example Situation:

I wanted to improve my hand writing and learn calligraphy and I used this technique to do so. Here are the steps I performed for 1 month to get satisfying results. The scale for this process was 5 minutes and not 25 minutes:

I used to set a timer of 5 minutes and start writing. In the first attempt I wrote only 3 line in English and believe me it was the worst handwriting anyone had ever seen. Then I took like a one minute break to refresh myself and start again. Then again set a timer for 5 minutes and start writing, stopped again, took a break of a minutes or half and start again. After continuous practice I managed to write 15 line in the same duration of time i.e. 5 minutes.

Benefits of the Technique:
